President Donald TRUMP has directed the Department of Defense and other agencies to declassify and release government files on unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), UFOs, and extraterrestrial life. The unprecedented move follows a surge in Pentagon-recorded UAP sightings—757 new cases were logged between May 2023 and June 2024.

The announcement, made via Truth Social, cited "tremendous interest" in the subject. Trump's order encompasses all data on UAPs, UFOs, and "any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters." The directive coincides with Trump accusing former President Barack Obama of leaking classified alien-related information during a public appearance.

Neither Trump nor Obama has claimed direct evidence of extraterrestrial contact. The disclosure could fuel speculative markets, particularly in crypto assets tied to decentralized data storage (FIL, ARK) and privacy-focused tokens (XMR, FIRO). Exchanges like Coinbase and Binance may see volatility as traders position around the news.
